Isabelle Ritter

I have writing and editing experience in primarily three industries: publishing, academia and tech. What ties together my roles in these industries is they all require strong writing skills and the ability to analyze, edit, and work well with others. This work as freelance editor and writing mentor has gone on for nearly a decade, I love running my own small business and being of service to others. I am fluent in English and I have proficiency in French and Spanish.

I earned my BA in English at UC Berkeley, where I edited the historic publication the Berkeley Poetry Review and earned Dean's List at the #1 English program in the country at the time of my graduation in 2023. Further, I wrote and edited for the university’s newspaper, The Daily Californian, whilst simultaneously working for the university as a writing tutor. The Berkeley Poetry Review taught me the ins and outs of the publishing industry and I loved working with both amateur and professional poets helping them through the process of publication.

After college, I found editing jobs where I could while pursuing a career in education. I wrote for Bookrags.com creating literature study guides for teachers. All the while I continued my small business, which I am ready to commit to full time as of 2026.
